Veterans

Veterans are not just those who serve in the army, but also our city police, RCMP, firefighters, EMS, and first responders. These are the people who put their lives on the line for us everyday.

As an executive Member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a past Canadian Forces Reservist, Reid has seen first hand how poorly veterans have been treated. All levels of government need to do more.

Many veterans have a medical or mental health issue that affects them and their families. Some veterans even end up on our city streets as a result of falling on hard times. Reid wants to do what he can to see the City of Regina do its part.

Reid is advocating for a homeless veteran village that the Regina Legion Branch is wanting to get off the ground. This will help veterans get what they need and learn new life skills.

Reid recognizes that Regina Legion Branch 001 has had some financial trouble lately, and Reid is committed to helping the Legion in these challenging times. It is important that the Legion continues to exist as losing the Regina Branch would mean a loss of so many events, like the Regina Remembrance Day Services.
